A free and convenient (thin) cable fastener

There are many options for fastening cables & wires together, like velcro wraps, zip ties, and cable clips. But if you don’t want to run out and buy one of these handy fasteners, no problem! You probably have several in your kitchen right now that are easier and faster to use then any other cable wrap. No, not twist ties… bag fasteners that come with loaves of bread:

They are much quicker to attach and remove than my old favorite – the twist tie. The only issue is that if you have a thick or long cable, these fasteners might not be big enough – however, they do work especially well on ipod/iphone cables.

Bonus tip… if you’re using twist ties, make sure you’re doing it right: twist a small portion of the twist tie around one end of the cable – that way you don’t need to look for one every time you need to re-fastenen the cable.
