If your hard drive is still inside your laptop (iBook, PowerBook, MacBook Pro, and some PC laptops) or your iMac, there is a non-refundable $65 fee (1hr labor) for removing it. Once removed, we can also replace your drive for no additional labor charge.
2) If your hard drive is greater than 2TB, there is an extra $100 fee if successfully recovered. This is because of the extra time necessary to recover data from such a large size hard drive. *Most data recovery companies charge around $1 per GB!
3) RAID drives/servers/enclosures are charged per hard drive (i.e. a successful 2-drive 4tb RAID recovery is $600, a 5-drive RAID 5 server recovery is $1500, and of course, no charge if your data can't be recovered). *Most data recovery companies start at $1000+ for a 2-drive RAID.
4) If the cover of your drive has been opened (exposing the platters inside), there is a $50 non-refundable up-front payment required. If recovery is successful, the $50 is put towards the recovery fee.
5) If you have an encrypted drive (RARE: for example, Western Digital external drive with Smartware), there is an extra $100 fee if successfully recovered. This is because any drive with Smartware is encrypted, making data recovery much more difficult and time consuming. The drive will be encrypted even if you never set a password. *Most data recovery companies charge $500-$1000 extra for encryption!
6) If your 2.5" USB drive has a USB port built into the PCB (RARE: for example, Western Digital My Passport USB 3 drives), there is an extra $100 fee if successfully recovered. This is due to the complexity of recovering data from a drive without a SATA or IDE interface. *Most data recovery companies charge $300-800 extra for this.
*We offer Priority Service for customers who need the FASTEST possible turnaround in the industry! We start on your drive within one hour of receiving it and don't stop till it's finished (usually 3-24 hours depending on the problem with the drive and amount of data needing to be recovered). Priority Service is $150 paid up-front (non-refundable) and $150 due upon completion (if successful, in addition to standard rates).
In order to get back your recovered data, you must either supply us with an external hard drive when you drop off or mail in your bad drive, or you can buy one from us after the recovery has been successful.
